SEWING AND UPCYCLING
Ages 13+
Description:
In this hands-on course, students will learn essential sewing techniques—including hand-stitching and machine work—to create unique, upcycled garments. The focus will be on mending, patchworking, and customization, transforming wardrobe pieces into a personalized hoodie that reflects creativity and style.
Students will also explore the importance of sustainable fashion practices and their environmental impact, promoting repair and reuse over waste. By the end of the class, participants will craft a one-of-a-kind, eco-conscious piece and gain valuable skills for sustainable creation.
This intensive course requires dedication. Students should plan to utilize open studio hours or work at home to complete projects.
