We are thrilled to share the success of our recent public art initiative, made possible through the generous support of the City of Lowell's Office of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (CASE). This project provided our youth with an invaluable opportunity to contribute to the city's vibrant public art scene by painting barrels that represent Lowell's diverse neighborhoods.
Neighborhood-Inspired Art
Each barrel was designed to encapsulate the unique essence of Lowell's neighborhoods, fostering a sense of community and shared identity.
Lead Artist's Vision
Our lead artist emphasized the project's intent:
"Each barrel is supposed to represent each neighborhood in Lowell. I wanted each barrel to have a piece of Lowell that everyone recognizes and feels connected to. I'm so glad to be a part of our artist community and know such cool artists! All Lowell-based. They pulled this off."
Community Collaboration
This endeavor was a collaborative effort, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude to:
City of Lowell's Office of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (CASE): For their unwavering support, partnership and funding that made this project possible.
Mosaic Lowell, Like Lowell, and Western Avenue Arts: For their collaboration and dedication to enriching our city's cultural landscape.
Celebrating Our Artists
A special thank you to all the talented artists who dedicated their time and creativity to this project. Your work has added color and vibrancy to Lowell, fostering a deeper connection within our community.
We invite everyone to explore the city and experience these artworks firsthand. If you come across these barrels, take a moment to appreciate the stories and artistry they embody.
Thank you once again to everyone involved in bringing this vision to life. Together, we continue to make Lowell a canvas for creativity and community expression.
