This residency offers dedicated time, space, and structure to deepen your practice and expand your work. Applicants must submit a portfolio of three to five works, along with a written concept describing your ideas and how access to this space will support your growth.
Our students come from the city of Lowell and surrounding communities, each bringing their own story to Refuge.

At Refuge, we keep art accessible for all, with no financial or skill-based barriers to joining. Here, our students share what art means to them, the challenges they’ve faced, and how Refuge has helped them grow as artists and compassionate leaders. Get to know the people behind the art and what inspires them.

We’d love to hear from you! If you’re interested in collaborating, click on our "Collab with Us" form below to share your project idea, or email us directly at refugelowell@gmail.com.
